PROGRAM STRUCTURE

Students will be connected with a student from another country via email by The World in Us. Culture partners will be determined using student preferences as recorded in the application form.

Culture Calls

Students are tasked with coordinating at least one call with their culture partner during the month of the program. Although we recommend that students engage in at least two calls, only one call is mandatory to complete the program. Students are provided conversation guides, however are not obliged to stay within the extent of the guides. The culture calls are important to gather information for the culminating project.

Discussion topics include:

  • Education

  • Environmentalism

  • Government

  • Minority Rights

  • Personal Evolution

  • Modern Culture

  • Spirituality

Culminating Project

To complete the program, students must develop a culminating project. The project should spotlight their culture partner’s country/culture. The project should also include information relating to the presence of the monthly topic in their culture partner’s country/culture. Students may use any medium for their project that showcases what they have learned (including, but not limited to a slideshow, one-pager, dish, or craft). Students will submit their project via a Google Form to receive a certificate.
